Starting the day with a balanced breakfast is a great way to start creating healthy eating habits.

Why Is Breakfast Important?

When you start your day with a nutritious breakfast, you improve your ability to think clearly and can be at the top of your game. Plus, a balanced breakfast sets the tone for a day of healthy and supportive food choices and gives you the opportunity to start and stay in a place of blood sugar balance.

Maintaining blood sugar balance will set you up to feel more satisfied throughout the day as well as ward off future cravings. Both of which are very important if you are interested in losing weight the healthy way. An added bonus of blood sugar regulation is that it will reduce your risk for obesity and metabolic syndrome.

How To Build A Healthy Breakfast

When you create a breakfast, follow this simple formula to ensure that your meal is balanced and nutritious.

Healthy Breakfast Formula = A Slowly-Digesting Carbohydrate + High Quality Protein + Healthy Fat + Some Fiber

Healthy Breakfast Formula = A Slowly-Digesting Carbohydrate + High Quality Protein + Healthy Fat + Some Fiber

You need all four of these components to stabilize blood sugar levels. Additionally, these components will keep you feeling satisfied and nourished all morning long.

And an important little side-note about satiety. Without satisfaction, you will very likely continue to seek out food. This means that if you eat a breakfast that is missing one or more of these components, you greatly increase the likelihood of overeating or overindulging later in the day.

Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Here are some easy breakfast ideas which implement the Healthy Breakfast Formula. These breakfasts will “break-the-fast” in a very nutrient dense way and regulate blood sugar levels first thing. They will also keep you feeling satisfied throughout the morning so that you can establish healthy eating habits and achieve and maintain your ideal weight!
